After giving a brief historical framework for ekphrasis, I will discuss my approach to making poems inspired by visual art and use examples of my work to illustrate my creative process.
Workshop Description: Writing Poetry Inspired by Art
These writing workshops—identical in content with more writing time in the longer one—will teach participants about the history of ekphrasis, familiarize them with current approaches to ekphrasis, show examples of the genre, and provide guided engagement with current art exhibits at the Dahl Arts Center.
